Program Description and Accreditation

This institution has been granted a consent by the Minister of Colleges, Universities, Research, Excellence and Security to offer this program for a five-year term starting February 26, 2026. Prospective students are responsible for satisfying themselves that the program and the degree will be appropriate to their needs (e.g., acceptable to potential employers, professional licensing bodies, or other educational institutions).

Tuition

Domestic: $42.3K CAD

International: $56.6K CAD

The domestic tuition price is inclusive of a scholarship of up to 25% for all domestic students beginning their graduate studies in the 2026 academic year. Domestic Canadian students with a GPA of 3.5 or higher from their previous institutions are eligible to receive up to 50%. This scholarship is not transferable to alternative programs of study, terms or campuses outside of Toronto, ON.

Program Description

The MPS in Applied AI Connect program is designed to help you break into the tech industry, no matter your undergraduate degree. With just nine additional credits of study, you can gain the skills you need for a successful career in AI.

You’ll begin the program with skill-building courses that will build your foundation in essential competencies, then focus on creating and implementing AI and machine learning technologies in the traditional program, which emphasizes collaborative learning, interdisciplinary innovation, real-world applications, and ethics.

This approach and the ability to specialize your learning through concentrations and electives equip you with the computer science, analytical, and problem-solving skills to transform your workplace through AI.

Program Objectives

By the end of the program, students will be able to:

  • Apply a comprehensive foundation in ML and AI concepts, methodologies, and applications for aspiring developers, engineers, and data scientists with minimal prior technical experience.
  • Employ instrumental data analysis methods and modern artificial intelligence (AI) analytical techniques as applied in public and private sector settings.
  • Investigate and select data, analytics, and AI technologies to address real-world organizational questions or problems.
  • Solve an organizational problem by integrating the principles, tools, and methods of AI and machine learning (ML) while making informed decisions about the design and deployment of systems in human environments and related workflows.
  • Evaluate advanced data management technologies for suitability in different application contexts and factors influencing successful adoption.
  • Communicate complex quantitative information to different audiences using exploratory data visualization, dashboard design, scorecard design, and spatial data representation.
  • Identify key management and ethical issues organizations face throughout the complete data lifecycle.
  • Integrate the theory and practices of human-computer interaction and usability to analyze and design solutions.
  • Apply strategic analysis, problem-solving, decision-making, effective communication, and leadership skills to implement ML and AI solutions in real-world scenarios.
